Welcome to the in-between
FIELD GUIDE TO BECOMING
You’re not who you once were. You’re not entirely sure who you’re becoming. And maybe, for once, you don’t need to rush to figure it out. What if you gave yourself a year to explore instead?
Field Guide to Becoming is a year-long experience to honor who you've been, to meet yourself as you are now, and to experiment with who you might become next.
12 months · Live cohort · Begins 2027
For anyone in the liminal space between the life they had and the life they have.
There's a particular kind of grief that comes with realizing you can't go back to the person you were.
Sometimes change happens to us. Sometimes we choose it. And sometimes we just look around one day and realize the life we built doesn't fit quite like it used to.
However we get there, change asks us to let go of things. Identities. Roles. Relationships. Plans. Places. Certainty. Versions of ourselves we knew how to be.
Some things we'd give anything to have back. Others we've willingly outgrown. Most of us are carrying a complicated mix of both.
That's the strange part of the in-between: you can miss who you were and still be curious about who you're becoming. You can grieve the life you had and still want something from the life you have.
You don’t have to choose between honoring who you’ve been and making room for whoever you might become next.
Maybe the in-between isn't something to rush through. Maybe it's worth spending some time here.
Not because you need to figure out exactly who you're becoming. But because you deserve the time and space to find out.
A Year of Becoming
You don’t have to know where you’re going. Start with where you are.
01
REMEMBER
What has always been yours?
Look back before you look ahead. Reconnect with the parts of yourself that are easy to lose along the way.
02
NOTICE
What’s true now?
Meet the person you actually are today—not who you used to be, thought you’d be, or think you should be.
03
CHOOSE
What do you want to do with what you know?
Make choices from where you are now. Follow what matters. Try things. Change your mind. See what happens.
04
BECOME
What happens when you start living from what you know?
Take what you’ve learned into your actual life—not to arrive at a finished version of yourself, but to keep becoming.
You’re not trying to predict who you’ll be a year from now. You’re giving yourself a year to participate in finding out.
A YEAR TO ACTUALLY EXPLORE.
Field Guide to Becoming isn’t a course to complete. It’s a year of lived experiments, reflection, conversation, and trying things in your actual life.
Over 12 months, you’ll have structure to keep you moving, space to follow what’s interesting, and a group of people doing their own becoming alongside you.
What’s Included:
-
One each month: a lived experiment designed to be done in your actual life, not just thought about. Three for each phase of the year: Remember, Notice, Choose, Become.
-
A 90-minute monthly gathering to talk through that month's assignment: what you tried, what surprised you, what got in the way.
-
Four deeper sessions, one per phase, to go further into the work of that season.
-
Sometimes change — big & small — needs to be witnessed. This group will be your cheerleaders as you rediscover who you are.
-
Join the club-wide Accountability Hour each week and bring whatever you’re working on — your Becoming assignment, something you’ve been putting off, or anything needs a little dedicated time and follow-through.
-
Prompts, guides, and extras that go with each assignment.
-
A private space for your Becoming cohort to share what you're discovering, ask questions, and witness each other's becoming, plus weekly Scouting Joy practice (because sometimes we need a little joy while we are becoming what’s next)
Field Guide to Becoming begins in early 2027
There’s more of you to meet.
You don’t have to know who that person is yet. Give yourself the time, space, and permission to find out.
