Terms of Use
Last updated: September 29, 2026
Welcome to Joy Scout Project. These terms apply to your use of joyscoutproject.com, Joy Scout Club, and any program, membership, or experience you join through us. By using the site or signing up for anything, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or our programs.
Joy Scout Project is operated by Forced Joy Project, LLC ("we," "us," "our").
Not professional advice
Joy Scout Project offers community, reflection, and inspiration. It is not therapy, counseling, coaching, medical care, or legal or financial advice, and it isn't a substitute for any of those. Nothing on our site, in our programs, or in our community should be taken as professional advice for your specific situation.
If you're struggling, please reach out to a licensed professional. If you're in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (in the U.S.) or contact your local emergency services.
Who can join
Our programs and community are for adults 18 and older.
Your account
Some programs require you to create an account, including Joy Scout Club on Mighty Networks. You're responsible for keeping your login information secure and for activity on your account. Please don't share your account with anyone else.
Purchases and memberships
Prices are listed on our website or at checkout. By purchasing, you agree to pay the listed price and any applicable taxes.
Some memberships renew automatically. Renewal terms, cancellations, and refunds are explained in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which is part of these terms.
We may change our prices or offerings at any time, but changes won't affect anything you've already paid for.
Joy Scout Club and community spaces
Joy Scout Club and our private program spaces are meant to be supportive places to share, witness, and connect. By participating, you agree to follow our Community Guidelines.
We may remove content or suspend or end access for anyone who violates these terms or the Community Guidelines, or who makes the community unsafe for others. In that case, no refund is owed.
Our content
Everything we create, including Field Guides, Field Assignments, worksheets, emails, videos, recordings, and website content, belongs to Forced Joy Project, LLC and is protected by copyright law.
When you join a program, you get a personal, non-transferable right to use its materials for your own use. Please don't copy, share, resell, or distribute them, or use them to teach or run your own programs, without our written permission.
Sharing a quote or a single prompt with credit and a link back to us is always welcome.
Your content
You own what you post in our community spaces. By posting, you give us permission to display it within the space where you posted it.
We'll never use your posts, stories, or photos outside the community, including in marketing or testimonials, without asking you first.
You're responsible for what you share. Please only post content you have the right to share, and never share another member's story or personal information outside the community.
Live calls and events
Live calls may be recorded as described in our Privacy Policy. Please respect other participants' privacy and don't record, screenshot, or share anything from a live call yourself.
In-person experiences, including Joy Scout Camp, have their own registration terms and participation waivers, which you'll receive when you register.
Third-party services
We use other services to run Joy Scout Project, including Squarespace, Mighty Networks, Flodesk, and Zoom. Your use of those services is also subject to their terms. We're not responsible for their availability, content, or practices.
Disclaimers
Our site, programs, and community are provided "as is." We do our best to keep everything running smoothly, but we can't guarantee that the site or community will always be available or error-free, or that any program will produce a particular result for you. Your experience is yours, and what you get out of it depends on you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Forced Joy Project, LLC isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, programs, or community. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll let you know by email or with a notice on the site. Continuing to use the site or programs after changes means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan.
